What every retainer includes

What changes the fee

£3,000 a month is the starting point. Your proposal gives one fixed monthly figure, based on:

Size and complexity of the site
A 30-page service site and a 50,000-SKU store need very different amounts of technical and content work.
How many services you need
SEO on its own, or SEO alongside PPC management, tracking or international markets.
Who implements the work
Whether we make changes directly in your CMS or brief your developers and review their work.
Content volume
How many new pages and rewrites each month, and whether your team or ours writes them.
Number of markets and locations
Each extra country, language or branch adds research, pages and reporting.
Pace
How quickly you want to move. A faster timetable needs more hours each month.

Pricing questions

See what the work involves on our services pages.

How much does SEO cost in the UK?

It varies widely, from a few hundred pounds a month for freelancers to five figures for large agencies. Our retainers start from £3,000 a month, which pays for senior, hands-on work rather than an account manager reselling a template.

Why do you publish your prices?

So you can decide whether we're a sensible fit before you spend time on a call. If £3,000 a month isn't realistic right now, we'd rather you knew that up front.

Why is there a three-month minimum?

The first month is mostly audit and planning, and search changes need time to be crawled, processed and measured. Three months is the shortest period in which you can fairly judge whether the work is paying off.

What happens after the first three months?

We review the results together against the benchmark from month one and agree whether to continue, and whether the scope or fee should change.

Can we buy a one-off audit or project?

Yes. Migrations, technical audits and tracking rebuilds can be scoped as fixed projects. We quote them after a discovery call, once we know the size of the job.

What isn't included in the fee?

Ad spend is paid directly to Google or Microsoft. Any third-party costs, such as paid tools or commissioned content, are agreed with you before they're incurred. We never buy links.

Our budget is below £3,000 a month. Can you help?

Probably not on an ongoing basis, but tell us on the enquiry form anyway. We'll say honestly where a smaller budget will go furthest.
