Always Evolving SEO

Shopify SEO for stores that want to outrank the marketplaces

Collection pages that rank, product pages that convert, and the Shopify-specific fixes that themes and apps leave behind: duplicate paths, app bloat, thin schema and filter URLs.

From £3,000 a month · 3-month minimum

Problems we fix

  • Collections outranked by Amazon and marketplaces
  • Products reachable at several different URLs
  • A slow theme weighed down by apps
  • Filter and sort URLs being indexed
  • Missing price or review rich results
  • GA4 revenue that doesn't match Shopify

How we approach Shopify SEO

Shopify gets a lot right out of the box: hosting, SSL, sitemaps and sensible defaults. But every store runs into the same platform quirks. Product URLs are reachable through every collection they sit in. The /products/ and /collections/ prefixes can't be removed. Each app adds scripts that slow the theme down, and the built-in structured data covers less than Google can use.

We know where Shopify can be changed and where it can't, so we don't waste your budget fighting the platform. Most fixes happen in the theme's Liquid templates, robots.txt.liquid, metafields and your app stack, and we can either make them ourselves or brief your Shopify developer.

What's included

Collection page optimisation
Titles, intro copy, filters, internal links and sub-collections structured around the commercial queries that bring in revenue.
Duplicate URL and canonical fixes
Theme links pointed at canonical /products/ URLs rather than collection-nested paths, plus variant and tag page handling.
Theme and app performance
An audit of every installed app's front-end cost, leftover code from uninstalled apps, image handling and Core Web Vitals on key templates.
Product structured data
Product, offer, review and shipping markup extended beyond the theme default, kept in sync with your Merchant Center feed.
Filters and robots.txt
Search & Discovery filter URLs, sort parameters and internal search kept out of the index with robots.txt.liquid and sensible linking.
Shopify Markets and migrations
International subfolders and hreflang through Shopify Markets, and full redirect plans for stores moving onto Shopify.

Shopify SEO questions

Something else? Ask us directly.

Is Shopify bad for SEO?

No. It has some fixed limitations, like URL prefixes and collection-nested product paths, but none of them stop a store ranking well. Most Shopify SEO problems come from themes, apps and content rather than the platform.

Can you remove /collections/ and /products/ from our URLs?

Not on Shopify; those prefixes are fixed. They don't hold stores back in practice, and trying to work around them with apps or proxies usually causes more problems than it solves.

Do SEO apps fix Shopify SEO?

Some help with specific jobs, such as image compression or schema. None replace a proper audit, and each one adds weight to your theme, so we're selective about which ones stay installed.

Do you work on Shopify Plus?

Yes. Plus adds more control over checkout and scripts, and usually comes with larger catalogues and several markets, which is where technical SEO matters most.

How much does Shopify SEO cost?

Retainers start from £3,000 a month with a minimum three-month term. The exact fee depends on the size of your site and how much delivery we take on. You'll get a fixed monthly figure in the proposal after the discovery call, with no surprise extras.

Why is there a three-month minimum?

The first month is mostly audit and planning, and search changes need time to be crawled, processed and measured. Three months is the shortest period in which you can fairly judge whether the work is paying off.
